Previously I've posted great graphics about the international solar market and the potential of solar energy in the US. This graphic from Green Tech Media looks at US Solar installiation in 2011.
Clearly California is the largest market, followed by New Jersey (which is not surprising given financial incentives for solar installation) and Arizona.
Commerical facilities accounted for the most capacity with 43%, followed closely by Utility facilites with 40% and Residential in a distant third with 16%. However this distribution was not seen in every state. For example Pennslyvania had no utility installiation where as in New Mexico installiation was almost entirely in utility facilities.
