This Great Graphic was posted by Roberto A. Ferdman and Ritchie King on Quartz. It shows how much time one must work at minimum wage to pay for a beer. A beer is defined as domestic draught at a bar or restaurant. This still allows for greater variation within a country of course, but it is an interesting exercise. Ferdman and King draw on minimum wage data from the International Labor Organization (ILO) and Numbeo, which maintains a large data base on cities and countries, including cost of living and consumer product prices.
